A blocked kitchen sink, basin, shower or laundry tub is one of the most common calls we get. It usually starts as slow draining and ends with water that will not go down at all.

What causes it

In kitchens, it is mostly fat, oil and food scraps that harden in the pipe. In bathrooms, hair and soap build up over time. Sometimes an object has been dropped down the drain, and in older homes the pipe itself may have narrowed with age.
